Este prima zi când am cerut eu liber. Vreau să pregătesc câte ceva și să simt ajunul Crăciunului, ca acasă. Așa cum făceam când eram copii și cum încă se mai practică la noi în familii unde se păstrează tradiția. Cu puține excepții, în ajunul Crăciunului se pregătesc ultimele feluri de mâncare, se pregătește bradul în familie, se aranjează toate prin casă ca de sărbătoare... Bine, eu sunt și adeptul lucrurilor făcute din timp (cât se poate) și ar fi de preferat ca lucrurile să fie făcute din vreme ca să nu ne obosim prea tare și apoi Crăciunul să fie mai mult un chin fizic decât o plăcere.
Cum ajunul Crăciunului e doar o seară obișnuită pentru colegii mei, aleg să petrec seara asta cu românca pe care am cunoscut-o zilele trecute. Stă și aproape (vreo doi kilometri de aici), e ușor de ajuns. Colegii vor face o masă de Crăciun mâine, veți vedea cum arată...
Printre pregătiri obișnuite, trebuie să ies puțin și îmi vin în minte iglu-urile de sticlă de la Kakslauttanen și... venirea lui Moș Crăciun pe sanie (prietena româncă îmi spusese de asta, mulțumesc!). Așa că merg spre iglu-uri cu o oprire la saună. Mă speriase fumul care ieșea din cabana de lemn, am crezut că a luat foc ceva și de fapt e doar pregătirea saunei pentru seara. Mă învârt puțin printre iglu-urile de sticlă, în mare parte închiriate de asiatici, văd simbolul viking colorat și mă întorc acasă pentru ultimele pregătiri (cu colinde pe youtube).
It is the first day off that I asked for. I want to prepare something and feel the Christmas eve, as at home. As we did when we were children and it is still in practice in the families keeping the tradition. With a few exceptions, in the Christmas eve we prepare the last dishes, we make the Christmas tree, we arrange everything for the celebration... Well, I am used to have everything made in time (as possible) for not feeling tired and the Christmas would be more a torture than a pleasure.
As Christmas eve is an usual evening for my colleagues, I choose to spend this evening with the romanian girl I met last days. She lives quite close (about 2 km) and it is easy to go there. My colleagues will make a Christmas dinner tomorrow, you'll see it...
Among the usual preparations, I have to go out a bit and I have in my mind the glass igloos from Kakslauttanen and... Santa coming on a sleigh (the romanian friend told me about this, thanks!). So I go to the igloos with a stop at the sauna. I was scared about the smoke coming out from a wooden house, I thought it was a fire and it is just the sauna preparation for the evening. I walk around the glass igloos, partially rented by asiatic people, see the viking colored symbol and turn back home for the last preparations (with carols on youtube).
La 16.30 e marele eveniment: Moș Crăciun vine pe sania descoperită trasă de un ren. E un eveniment frumos, merg să fac poze și să filmez puțin. Și vedem din întuneric că apare un localnic ținând un ren de căpăstru și în sania din spate este Moșu'. Pare bucuros de revedere... la fel și cele două crăciunițe din spatele saniei! E un spectacol pentru cei mici și pentru cei mari! Moșu' dă mână cu toți, face poze, mai povestește câte ceva și apoi intră în restaurant.
Trebuie să spun și partea realistă: totul e de fapt o scenetă pentru turiștii cazați aici! Și dă tare bine. Mai ales cei care stau în perioada asta au parte de venirea Moșului în noapte. Angajații hotelului sunt și bucuroși și prinși în muncă (ca angajat în turism trebuie să te asiguri că totul e bine pentru clienți, dacă ai și tu timp să te bucuri de ceva, e chiar foarte bine). Eu sunt undeva între ei: aici sunt turist, în alte zile lucrez pentru bucuria musafirilor. E cel mai bun nume! Nu clienți sau turiști, ci musafiri. Menirea noastră e să îi facem să se simtă ca acasă, ca niște musafiri.
Plec o dată cu Moșu' (mergem în aceeași direcție și ne vom ”pierde” în noapte) și cu ultimele pregătiri voi merge la cina ce se prelungește târziu în noapte (cu mai mulți colegi de la hotelul Kakslauttanen).
The great event happens at 16.30: Santa Claus comes on a one reindeer open sleigh. It is fine, I go for some pics and a small movie. And we see a local coming from the dark holding a reindeer with a bridle and Santa is in the back sleigh. He looks happy to re-see everybody... The same for the two christmas girls/elves in the back of the sleigh! It is a show for small and big kids! Santa is shaking hands with everybody, takes pictures, tells some stories and enters the restaurant.
I have to say the real part: everything is a scene for the tourist with accomodation here! And it looks very good! Mainly for the ones lucky to be here to see Santa coming from the dark. The hotel employees are happy and in the same time full with work (as a tourism employee you must assure that everything is ok for the clients and it is very good if you have time to enjoy yourself). I am somewhere between: I am a tourist here, in other days I work for the happiness of the guests. It is the best name! No clients or tourists but guests. Our reason here is to make them feel like home, like guests.
I leave in the same time with Santa (we go in the same direction and ”lose ourselves” in the night) and with the last preparations I go to the dinner that longs later in the night (with more colleagues from Kakslauttanen hotel).
