Mă trezesc lejer și am destul timp liber dimineață (până la peștereală). Am ceva cumpărături de făcut chiar de la Decathlonul din piața gării Nyugati (Pályaudvar). Știu că îmi va ajunge acasă geaca pe care am uitat-o în Kaunas la hostel și pentru turele pe care le voi face până atunci am nevoie de o geacă de iarnă. Căutasem pe net și am găsit mai multe variante. În magazin îmi place cel mai mult un model care costă 24990 HUF (aproape 400 de lei). Mă doare un pic să dau atâția bani și am nevoie! Că tot sunt aici îmi iau și niște bețe de trekking, model nou și cizmulițe pentru ele. Și de ele am nevoie! În total 31960 HUF. Sumă imensă, cam 100 de euro! Asta e! Am făcut și cumpărături și acum pot pleca în oraș!
I wake up early and have time enough in the morning (until caving). I have some shopping to do in Decathlon near Nyugati Pályaudvar square. I know that the jacket I forgot in Kaunas, Lithuania will come at my home and I need a winter jacket for the trips I will make before going home. I found some types on internet and in the shop I like the one costing 24990 HUF (almost 400 lei). It hurts to give so much money and I need it! Being here, I take some trekking sticks and rubber boots for them. I need them too! Totally I pay 31960 HUF. Huge amount, about 100 euro! That's it! I did my shopping and I can go to city now!
Cobor pe Bajcsy-Zsilinszky útca până la stația de metrou Arany János útca unde fac o pauză să mănânc ceva. Cel mai consistent și ieftin este tot ceva turcesc! În piața Szent István tér fac dreapta pentru a ajunge în fața bazilicei Szent István imensă pe care o fotografiez din față când prind un moment liber. Este așa de bine să stai la soare pe bancă și să studiezi harta orașului. Nu mă bag în discuție când aud pe cineva lângă mine vorbind la telefon în maghiară și apoi în română (clujean) :D! Abia reușesc să prind un cadru fără prea multă lume. Este a treia clădire ca mărime din Ungaria după Parlament și bazilica din Esztergom (96 de metri înălțime, 88 lungime și 55 lățime). Este dedicată Sfântului Ștefan, fondatorul Ungariei.
Cobor apoi pe Zrínyi utca până în piața Széchenyi István tér în care este o statuie feminină foarte slabă (probabil dorința fiecărei femei) și în față este podul cu lei Széchenyi Lánchíd (am mai fost pe aici acum cinci ani și ascultasem istoria construcției podului și a leului spart în două). Acum parcurg podul și voi parcurge tunelul castelului Buda spre orașul Buda. De fapt nu chiar spre oraș fiindcă voi urca deasupra tunelului în zona turistică a castelului.
I go down on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky útca to Arany János útca metro station where I have a short break to eat something cheap, consistent = turkish! In Szent István tér/square I turn right to go in front of the huge Szent István basilica which I take pictures in a free moment. It is so good to sit on a bench in the sun and study the city map. I keep my business when I hear someone speaking on the phone hungarian and then romanian (he is from Cluj) :D! I hardly get a frame without many people. It is the third highest building in Hungary after the Parliament and the Esztergom basilica (96 meters high, 88 in length and 55 in width). It is dedicated to St. Stephen, founder of Hungary.
I go down on Zrínyi utca to Széchenyi István tér/square where I see a feminin weak statue (probably target for every woman) and in front of me the bridge with lions Széchenyi Lánchíd (I have been here five years ago and listened to the story of the bridge and the broken lion). Now I walk all the bridge and the Buda castle tunnel to Buda city. In fact I won't go to the city and after the tunnel up in the touristic area of the castle.
Pe Palota út și prin parcul de sub ziduri găsesc alei care mă duc în piața Dísz tér care acum 5 ani era în reparație. În centru este statuia comandantului de armată Artur Görgey-szobor, ministru al apărării și dictator în timpul războiului de independență din 1848-1849. Pe aleea Tóth Árpád stny. merg până la scările care coboară spre oraș din dreptul străzii Szentháromság utca. După câteva poze merg pe aceasta spre biserica Mátyás (Mátyás Templom) și Bastionul Pescarilor (Halászbástya) prin care fac câteva cadre pe mai multe nivele. Mă întorc prin piața Szentháromság tér și în Hess András tér văd un basorelief al lui Matei Corvinul (Mathias rex) și intrarea la muzeul pivnițelor de vin. De aici pe Fortuna utca mă îndrept spre Arhivele Naționale și apoi pe Nándor utca ajung în Kapisztrán tér.
On Palota út and through the park under the walls I find alleys that take me to Dísz tér/square that was under construction 5 years ago. In the center we see the statue of army commander Artur Görgey-szobor, minister of defence and dictatior during the independence war in 1848-1849. On Tóth Árpád stny./alley I go to the stairs that go down to the city in the end of Szentháromság utca. After a few pics I follow this last one to Mátyás church (Mátyás Templom) and Fishermen Bastion (Halászbástya) where I take some pictures on many levels. I turn back to Szentháromság tér/square and in Hess András tér I see a basorelief of Matei Corvinul (Mathias rex) and the entrance to wine cellar museum. I follow Fortuna utca to National Archives and then Nándor utca to Kapisztrán tér.
Aici este Turnul Budei/Maria Magdolna Torony, ultima relicvă (reconstruită în 1950 după distrugerea întregului monument în asediul din 1945) a primei capele costruite de ungurii minoritari (printre germani) creștini în 1244. În fața lui se poate vedea și structura gotică a unei ferestre a fostei biserici și o copie a mantiei de încoronare a regilor donată de regele Ștefan și de regina Gisella în semn de gratitudine în 1031. A fost folosită până în 1916 la încoronarea regelui Carol IV în biserica Mátyás. Cobor apoi prin parcul Tóth Árpád și pe sub bastionul Anjou până la liftul Murad care mă coboară la Lovas utca.
Here is Buda Tower/Maria Magdolna Torony, the last relict (rebuilt in 1950 after destruction of the whole monumet in the siege from 1945) of the first chapel built by the christian hungarian minority (among germans) in 1244. In front of it we see the gothic structure of an window arch of the former church and a copy of the crowning mantle donated by king Stephen and queen Gisella as gratitude in 1031. It was used until 1916 at the crown ceremony of king Charles IV in Mátyás church. I go down through Tóth Árpád park and under Anjou bastion to Murad lift that takes me down to Lovas utca.
Pe străduțe ajung la Margit krt. și pe Török utca, Frankel Leó útca și Bécsi útca (până aici e linie de tramvai) ajung la linia autobuzelor 65 și 65A care urcă pe Szépvölgyi útca și Virág Benedek utca până la stația Pál-völgyi cseppkőbarlang (barlang=peșteră). Eu am urcat pe jos fiindcă aveam timp și fac câteva poze pe aici fiindcă am ajuns cu vreo jumătate de oră mai devreme față de program. La 15.15 intru la asociația speologică alături de alți colegi care plătiseră pentru circuitul Adventure Caving, lăsăm bagajele în dulapuri în vestiar, plătim diferențele de bani, primim salopete și căști cu frontale puternice, ni se face un scurt instructaj și pornim la drum (intrarea este pe partea cealaltă a străzii).
On small streets I reach Margit krt. and then on Török utca, Frankel Leó útca and Bécsi útca (tram line until here) I reach the bus lines 65 and 65A that go up on Szépvölgyi útca and Virág Benedek utca to Pál-völgyi cseppkőbarlang (barlang=cave). I walked all up because I had time and take some pictures around in the time left (about 30 minutes before the schedule). At 15.15 I enter at the speologic association next to some colleagues who payed for Adventure Caving circuit, let the baggages in lockers, pay the difference, get suits and helmets with powerfull headlamps, get a short training and start our exploration (the entrance is on the other side of the road).
Sistemul Pál-völgyi este cel mai mare din Ungaria (circa 30 de kilometri de galerii săpate de apele termale - suntem pe o falie tectonică) și extrem de încâlcit. Este extraordinar de fain și chiar ai nevoie de ghid în galeriile foarte încâlcite. Fiindcă suntem atletici, ghidul ne laudă și ne duce prin anumite pasaje foarte înguste. De câteva ori de târâm prin tuneluri orizontale sau chiar foarte înclinate (mie îmi place la nebunie asta, mai și explorez pe lângă grup când se poate!), îl ajut pe ghid cu postul de măturică, facem destule pauze unde este nevoie pentru explicații (la intrare în sala de primire a peșterii, în locurile dinaintea sălilor mari sau unde trebuie să ne arate ceva formațiuni, înainte de pasajele complicate unde ne arată singura poziție posibilă în care putem merge mai departe - cu un braț în față și împins cu un picior în peretele unui puț vertical sau coborârea pe culoarul foarte înclinat de lângă elefant etc). Toți suntem super- încântați și nici nu ne dăm seama când trec vreo trei ore și jumătate de explorare. Când ieșim afară e întuneric și parcă toți am mai vrea să explorăm :D. Cu mulțumiri ghidului și dezechipare, suntem liberi să facem ce vrem spre oraș. Eu voi merge tot pe jos pe alte străduțe, probabil colegii iau autobuz ceva...
Pál-völgyi cave system is the biggest of Hungary (about 30 kilometers of galleries digged by thermal waters - we are on a tectonic fault) and it is extremely labyrinthine. It is extremely fine and you really need a guide in these puzzling galleries. Because we are fit, the guide praise us and takes us to some very narrow passages. We crawl for a few times in horizontal or very steep tunnels (I totally love this, especially to explore more near the group when possible!), help the guide as end-of-the-group guide, take a lot of breaks for explanations (at the entry in the cave guest room, before the big rooms or where there are some special formations, before the complicated passages where he shows us the only possible way to pass - an arm in front of us and pushing with one leg in the walls of a vertical well or down on a steep passage near the elephant etc). We are all very excited and don't realize when more than three hours pass. When we go out it is dark and we all want to explore more :D. With many thanks to the guide and return of all equipment, we are free to the city. I will follow other streets, probably the colleagues take a bus...
Și așa v-am zăpăcit cu atâtea nume de străzi, nu mai insist și acum. Doar vă spun că am ieșit la Zsigmond tér și pe Margit híd (tot v-am povestit de el ieri) trec de capătul tramvaiului 2 și de celebra statuie a lui Columbo. De ce tocmai aici? Fiindcă s-a presupus că există o legătură de sânge între Peter Falk (locotenentul Columbo) și Miksa Falk, politician, jurnalist și autor maghiar (1828-1908). Chiar dacă nu s-a ugăsit dovezi evidente ale acestor legături statuia a rămas. În fond, ce dovezi evidente îi trebuiau lui Columbo?
And because I told you so many street names, I don't insist now. I only tell you that I reached Zsigmond tér and on Margit híd (the one I told you about yesterday) I pass the 2 tram line end and the famous statue of Columbo. Why here? Because it was supposed a family connection between Peter Falk (lieutenant Columbo) and Miksa Falk, hungarian politician, journalist și author (1828-1908). Even if they didn't found obvious proofs of these connections, the statue is still here. Since when real evidences stood in the way of Columbo?
Mâine vom descoperi alte locuri faine din capitala ungară, unele găsite din întâmplare într-un ghid scris la recepție.
