Saariselkä-Helsinki 03.01.2019

Gata! A venit ziua plecării! De aseară mi-am îmbrățișat colegii fiindcă dimineață plec foarte devreme. La 8.15 am autobuzul de aeroport (12 euro, la venire am dat 10 euro până în Saariselkä) și la 7.15 este un alt autobuz de la hotelul Kakslauttanen. Acesta costă mai mult decât cel de aeroport și vreau să văd dacă pot merge cu el. Chiar dacă Răzvan îmi spune să urc, eu sunt ”neamț” și întreb șoferul. Îmi spune prețul și că nu e autobuzul de la compania Eskelisen. Asta e, aștept autobuzul oficial. În timp ce îngheț în stație, am parte de un fenomen foarte fain: aurora mi se arată spre est, spre Kiilopää și văd și o stea căzătoare. Mă gândesc imediat la vorba noastră din popor... Vă dați seama cum e la -30 de grade afară? Mă simt ca un tată care își așteaptă soția să nască (știți faza aia cu tocitul covorului) sau ca un student care așteaptă să audă că a luat ”sfântul 5”. Pentru vreo 20 de minute intru la recepția de la hotel. Răzvan mă ceartă că trebuia să urc în autobuz când mi-a zis el, nu comenta nimic șoferul... Oricum, la ora stabilită vine autobuzul și am surpriza să nu fiu singur. E Mario Antuna, colegul meu cu care m-am întâlnit și când am venit, direct pe aeroportul din Ivalo. Autobuzul merge prin Saariselkä și apoi direct la aeroport. Așa cum scrie peste tot, autobuzele merg la fiecare cursă aeriană (detalii aici). Trecem lejer de formalități și suntem la poartă cu vreo jumătate de oră înainte de deschidere. Toate merg normal și mergem în avion, gata pentru zbor.

Eu voi dormi mai bine de o oră din zborul total. Mă trezesc când suntem la vest de Vantaa și facem stânga spre aeroport. Este și prima dată când văd soarele după mai bine de o lună. Să îmi scuzați calitatea pozei, sper să înțelegeți bucuria de a vedea iar astrul zilei!

Aterizăm și nu știu cum facem de trecem de toate porțile (fiind zbor intern, nu se verifică documentele) și ne trezim la poarta de ieșire din aeroport fără bagajele mari. Întrebăm un angajat de la aeroport și ne ghidează la o ușă specială unde prin interfon confirmăm zborul. Ni se deschide și ne simțim foarte speciali venind pe altă ușă decât cea obișnuită. La bagaje sunt câteva inscripții care provoacă zâmbete:

”Bagajul tău face un scurt ocol”

”Bagajul tău este momentan ocupat”

”Bagajul tău nu poate supraviețui fără tine”

În sfârșit ne luăm bagajele, Mario rămâne să mănânce ceva și eu iau autobuzul Finnair (6.90 euro la șofer) până la autogara principală (Rautatienkatu).

Ready! Day to go! In the last evening I hugged my colleagues because I leave very early in the morning. At 8.15 I have the airport bus (12 euros, 10 euros from airport to Saariselkä) and at 7.15 there is another airport bus from Kakslauttanen hotel. This costs more than the airport bus and I want to see if I can go with it. Even if Răzvan tells me to get in, I am ”german” and ask the driver. He tells me the price and that the bus is not from Eskelisen company. This is it, I wait for the official bus. While freezing in the station, I see a very fine phenomenon: the northern light show herself from est, from Kiilopää and I see a falling star. I am thinking about our saying... Do you know how it is at -30 degrees outside? I feel like a father waiting for the birth of a child (the moment of thickening the carpet) or a student waiting to get the ”holy 5”. I enter the reception for 15-20 minutes. Răzvan argues me for not going in the bus when he told me, the driver wouldn't tell me anything... Anyway at the right time the bus comes and I have the surprise of not being alone. I have Mario Antuna, my colleague that I met on arrival at the Ivalo airport. The bus goes through Saariselkä and then directly to airport. As you can see, the buses run every flight (details here). We pass the formalities and we are at the gate about half an hour before opening of the gate. Eveything goes normally and we go to the plane, ready to fly.

I will sleep more than one hour and wake up on west of Vantaa before turning left to airport. It is the first time when I see the sun after more than a month. Excuse the picture quality, hope to understand the joy of seeing again the star of the day!

We land and in some way we pass all the gates (no checkings for internal flights) and find ourselves at the exit door without the big bagages. We ask an airport employee and he guides us to a special door where we confirm the flight in a speaker. The door opens and we feel very special coming on another door than usual. At the baggage lane we see some funny lines:

”Your baggage is taking a little round trip”

”Your baggage is curently busy”

”Your baggage can't survive wothout you”

Finally we take the baggages, Mario stays to eat something and I take Finnair bus (6.90 euros on bus) to the main bus station (Rautatienkatu).

Am cazare la hostel Diana Park (Uudenmaankatu 9, 00120 Helsinki) și cu Google Maps merg la gara principală și apoi pe străzi până la destinație. Urc la etaj, primesc un loc într-o cameră de șase paturi și mai stau puțin în living-bucătărie. Intru în vorbă (la un ceai) cu rusoaica Elena (http://nevesoma.com/). Povestim de toate și are chef de ieșit prin oraș. Cum eu am mai fost anul trecut, mă ofer să îi fiu ghid. Vom petrece câteva ore foarte faine (vreo opt să fie!) prin oraș, prin locuri mai mult sau mai puțin umblate (biserica în piatră Temppeliaukio, cimitirul creștin, un ceai la Sky Room de la etajul 16 al hotelului Clarion cu ”Belvedere inclusă” sau shopping pentru seara și dimineața). Pe la 23.00 suntem la hostel și eu mă voi retrage la somn. Elena mai iese cu câțiva prieteni într-un bar la fotbal. Mâine dimineață ne vom revedea înainte de plecare. Cine știe, poate la vară vom petrece o vacanță împreună. Avem visuri comune...

I have accomodation at Diana Park hostel (Uudenmaankatu 9, 00120 Helsinki) and I follow Google Maps to the main trains station and then on the streets to my destination. I go up to the second floor, get my bed in a 6-bed room and stay for some time in the living-kitchen. At a tea Elena, a fine russian (http://nevesoma.com/), starts a nice conversation. We talk about everything and she has the mood to go out. As I have been here, I offer myself as a guide. We'll spend some fine hours (about eight!) outside, in more or less visited places (the stone church Temppeliaukio, the christian cemetery, a tea at Sky Room at the 16th fllor of Clarion hotel with ”view included” or shopping for the evening and the breakfast). We are back at the hostel around 23.00 and I will go to sleep. Elena goes out again with some friends at a football match in a bar. We'll meet in the morning again before leaving. Who knows, we might meet again in the summer or even spend a holiday together. We have common dreams...

Helsinki 02.01.2018

Helsinki... Un colț de Europă puternic influențat de Scandinavia... Cum eu vin de sus din nord, m-am obișnuit să nu grăbesc lucrurile. Așa că astăzi nu am cine știe ce în plan. Vreau să ajung la Sompa Sauna, să-mi iau bilet la ferryboat spre Tallinn, să cumpăr un steag pentru mama și ce o mai apărea. Poate ajung și la parcul Lenin (Lenininpuisto)... 

Un mare ajutor peste tot îmi este Google Maps! Mă ghidează (aproape) unde vreau. Acum mă duce prin fața gării centrale (Rautatieasema jarnvags) cu cei doi doi uriași de pază și apoi pe Kaisaniemenkatu (bulevard mare care pleacă din piața gării) spre podul Pitkäsilta dinaintea hotelului Hilton și apoi la piața și stația de metrou unde e Hakaniemen Kauppahalli, piață veche recunoscută ca obiectiv turistic. Nu o voi vizita nici la întoarcere ;). De aici pe Tavastvägen intru cumva în zona industrială unde sunt multe porți închise. Mi se pare că aici e una din termocentralele orașului... Pe alei pietonale intru în districtul Kalatasama unde este sauna și după micul intrând de apă fac dreapta printr-o zonă cu construcții spre capătul acesteia. Cred că muncitorii se uită cam ciudat la mine și își văd de lucru. Ce o căuta noaptea unul cu doi rucsaci pe aici... Strada mă duce aparent până la capătul peninsulei industriale, văd că mai continuă în față și stânga și merg până în capăt. Aici dau de vestita sauna. Sauna e construită în stil hippie și de multe ori a fost distrusă de autorități fiind considerată ilegală. Scrie pe net că e recomandat să aduci lemne și că e întreținută de voluntari. Nu am adus și nici nu am găsit lemne aici. Trebuie să faci tu focul și să îl întreții. Nu am cu ce face focul și renunț la idee. Caut pe să mă întorc pe cealaltă parte a peninsulei și e blocată de șantiere. Ca urmare trebuie să mă întorc pe unde am venit...

Helsinki... A corner of Europe with strong scandinavian influence... As I come from north, I am use to take everything slower. So I don't have a big plan today. I want to go to Sompa Sauna, take the ferry ticket to Tallinn, buy a flag for my mum and see on the way. Maybe I reach Lenin park too (Lenininpuisto)... 

Google Maps is a very good help everywhere! It guides me (almost) everywhere I want. Now it takes me in front of the main railwaystation (Rautatieasema jarnvags) with the two guarding giants and then on Kaisaniemenkatu (big boulevard starting from the station square) to Pitkäsilta bridge before Hilton hotel and then to the square and the metro station Hakaniemen Kauppahalli with the old market known as touristic objective. I won't visit it ;). On Tavastvägen I reach the industrial area where I find a lot of shut gates. I think one of the city's thermoplants is here... On walking alleys I enter Kalatasama district where is the sauna and after the small artifical port I turn right in an under construction area to the end of it. I think the workers have a strange looking to me and follow their job. What is doing one with two backpacks during night here... The street takes me apparently to the end of the industrial peninsula, I follow it more and go the the end. Here is the famous sauna. The sauna is built in hippie style and it was destroyed for many times by authorities being considered illegal. I saw on internet hat it is recommended to bring wood and that it is maintained by volunteers. I didn't bring any wood and I don't find wood here. You have to make and keep the fire. I don't have wood for fire and give up. I try to turn back on the other side of the peninsula and it is blocked. So I have to follow the way I came...

Trec prin parcul Kalasatama (Kalasatamanpuisto) fain amenajat cu mici delușoare pe care sunt lăsate niște tănculețe-machete. Uite unul din ele... 

I pass through Kalasatama park (Kalasatamanpuisto) well arranged with small hills where I see some mini-models. This is one of them...

Pe drumul arătat de Google Maps spre parcul Lenin (stația de metrou Kalasatama, străzile Junatie, Aleksis Kiven Katu și apoi Surenkatu/Surengatan) găsesc case frumos pictate, biserici sau vitrine cu lucruri vechi, sediul Electrolux...

On the way indicated by Google Maps to Lenin park (Kalasatama mero station, Junatie, Aleksis Kiven Katu and Surenkatu.Surengatan streets) I find nice painted buldings, churches or shop windows with old stuff, Electrolux main place...

Înainte de parc fac câteva poze casei de cultură care se află în fața parcului. Sunt multe afișe cu filme, ca în fața oricărei cinema... Și o machetă faină a casei de cultură ținută de o mână gigantă...

Before entering the park I take a few pictures of the culture house in front of the park. There are a lot of movie posters as in front of any cinema... And a fine model of the culture house hold in a huge hand...

Și acum hai în parc. Parcul Lenin (Lenininpuisto) este unul din puținele locuri din lume dedicate tiranului Vladimir Ilych Ulyanov cunoscut sub numele de Lenin. A fost construit ca un omagiu prieteniei între ”partea roșie” a orașului Helsinki și Lenin. Chiar în Tampere ar fi singurul muzeu din Europa vestică dedicat lui Lenin... Parcul a fost separat din parcul Alpin (Alppipuisto) construit pe o zonă stâncoasă în mijlocul orașului. Stâncile astea îmi aduc aminte de liniștea și sălbăticia din sud-vestul Norvegiei, cutreierat acum niște ani în zilele libere (atunci eram student acolo). Într-o parte a parcului a fost construit un parc de distracții numit Linnanmaki cu un rollercoaster interesant. Din parc voi ieși pe sub calea ferată prin alte zone verzi (grădina orașului Kaupunginpuutarha sau Stadsträdgärden) și apoi pe lângă lacul Toolonlahti spre zona gării.

And now to the park. The Lenin park (Lenininpuisto) is one of the few places in the world dedicated to tyran Vladimir Ilych Ulyanov known as Lenin. It was build as a tribute for the friendship between the ”red part” of Helsinki and Lenin. There is in Tampere the only one museum in western Europe dedicated to Lenin... The park was separated from Alpin Park (Alppipuisto) built on a rocky area in the middle of the city. These rocks remind me of the silence and wilderness of south-estern Norway, wandered a few years ago in the free days (I was a sudent there). A part of the park was transformed in amusement park Linnanmaki with an interesting rollercoaster. I will get out of the park under the railway to other green areas (the city garden Kaupunginpuutarha or Stadsträdgärden) amd then near Toolonlahti lake to the train station.

Zona Linnunlaulu/Fägelsängen este plină de vile acoperite în lemn în stil suedez și sunt piste de alergat care o traversează. Trec podul dintre lacurile Toolonlahti/Toloviken și Eläintarhanlahti/Djurgärdsviken (observați denumirile duble în finlandeză și suedeză!) și intru prin parcul Toolonlahdenpuisto/Toloviksparken spre zona gării. Străzile mă duc apoi pe la muzeul de istorie naturală și nimeresc iarăși la biserica de sub stâncă Tempelliaukio. De fapt voiam să ajung aici să iau steag finlandez și alte mărunțișuri! 

Linnunlaulu/Fägelsängen area is full of wooden sweddish style villas and running lanes. I pass the bridge between Toolonlahti/Toloviken and Eläintarhanlahti/Djurgärdsviken lakes (you observe the double finnish and sweddish names!) and enter through Toolonlahdenpuisto/Toloviksparken park to train station area. Streets take me to the natural history museum and the under rock church Tempelliaukio. I wanted to come here for a Finnish flag and other small stuff!

Explorez biserica pe deasupra și mă îndrept direct spre port pentru a-mi cumpăra bilet. De pe net știu că biletele cele mai ieftine se găsesc la compania Eckero line la terminalul 2. 

I explore the church on the roof and head directly to the port to buy a ticket. I know from internet that the cheapest tickets are at Eckero line company at Terminal 2.

La intrarea spre port este lucrarea de artă Horizon, în lungime de 54 de metri (adâncimea medie a Mării Baltice) unde sunt scrise numele donatorilor în campania Marea Baltică Curată (reducerea cantității de fosfor eliminat în mare și îmbunătățirea condiției apelor Mării Baltice). 

At the entrance to the port you can see the work of art Horizon, 54 meters length (the average deep of Baltic Sea) where are written the names of the donors in the Clean Baltic Sea campaign (reduce of phosphorus discharges in the sea and improvement of the condition of Baltic Sea waters).

Cu un astfel de ferryboat voi merge mâine! 

I will go with a ferry like this tomorrow!

Biletul mă costă 19 euro și este cel mai ieftin. Nu voi regreta niciodată banii ăștia, experiența face totul!

Ies din port după ce îmi încarc puțin telefonul și mă îndrept spre oraș. Mai am ceva vreme până ce mă voi duce la prietena Gina la care stau în seara asta!

The ticket is 19 euros and it is the cheapest. I will never regret the money, the experience is everything!

I get out of the gate after charging the phone and head to town. I have some time until I go to Gina, the friend where I will sleep tonight!

Cumva mă mai plimb spre zona verde de pe coastă, văd și vestita plajă din Helsinki, mă bucur de vederea unor raze ale soarelui și caut un loc unde să mănânc. Până la urmă voi mânca tot la cafeneaua Ursula unde mâncasem și la venire. Mă mai plimb puțin prin oraș și iau un taxi pentru a merge la Gina fiindcă stă la vreo 10 kilometri în Westend, Espoo. Vorbesc cu șoferul de toate și îmi explică despe zona metropolitană formată din Helsinki, Espoo și Vantaa. Interesant!

I walk  around in the green area near the coast, see the famous beach of Helsinki, enjoy the last rays of the sun and search for a place to eat. I will eat finally at Ursula Cafe where I ate when coming. I walk around in the city and take a taxi to Gina because she lives in Westend Espoo, about 10 kilometers from here. The driver tells me about the metropolitan area formed by Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa. Interesting!

Petrecem o seară foarte faină în care mai degrabă vorbim engleză decât română (cu prietenul ei neamț vorbim în engleză). Dimineață el mă va duce la port pentru a prinde cursa la 9.00 spre Tallinn. De menționat că e mai ieftin să iei o cursă Helsinki-Tallinn dus-întors (cum am luat eu!) decât un bilet doar dus (parcă 23 de euro!).

We spend an amazing evening speaking mostly english than romanian (we speak english for and with his german friend). I nthe morning he will take me to the port for the 9.00 trip to Tallinn. It is cheaper to buy a return trip to Tallinn rather than a single ticket (23 euros as I remember!).
